So sorry, I've been out of the CTP loop. I need custom drivers to install 1.09.18 from XP? Can somebody hook me up? foob-peek@darryl.com

    Thanks!

Also, if I try to upgrade on XP and it fails, will it brick my Peek? Can I go back to 1.09.15? Aw heck, maybe I'll just give it a go. So nobody hangs out on thinkpeek.com anymore?

@darryl - The 1.09.18 updater has the same issues the 1.09.15 on XP.

Ah, the driver here did the trick to getting my Peek recognized XP Service Pack 2 (where previously it was failing to detect the device after the second power-up):

    http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31

    PL2303_Prolific_DriverInstaller_v10518.zip

[When I ran the installer it first uninstalled the old drivers. Running it again installed the new driver.]

    Peek Software is downloading to my device as we speak. Hope my battery doesn't die. :-}

man i'm waaay out of loop again. someone help me get back into the swing of things! I was a ctp and have a peek that i flashed to pronto 1.09.15 and it says pronto when look at the device info. Do i need to do anything other than just re-activate? also, where are the links so i can upgrade to the newest software version?
  2.
nevermind. i'm sitting on 1.09.18 now. my device still says pronto but my emails are very far behind.

I tried scanning through the threads so as not to ask a question that's been asked/answered 1000 times.
If that's what I'm doing than I completely suck. :-)

I'm running 1.08.11 on my red Classic.
Unless I'm mistaken I can upgrade to a Pronto for no additional charge.

My Palm Pre cable fits and charges my Peek
Is there anything about a Peek cable that is different? Are there chips inside it?

Thanks Peek for rocking the mic!

@Chobeo - Even though the cable fits, it won't work.

The Peek has no native USB support, serial only. The cable from http://boutique.getpeek.com is a serial to usb converter.

Reading this thread was Crisis Prevention Homework. Well done everyone!
Got my cable yesterday afternoon, charged up my PEEK to full, and printed out everything in this thread pertaining to upgrade with XP. Without these notes I would have lost my freaking mind! After a couple of false starts (must remember to restart your PC after uninstalling the bad driver, then install the good version of the Prolific Driver with Updater still open) the PC synched up with the PC just fine! Total time was less than 30 minutes including hiccups! Adding a shortcut of PEEK Desktop to the desktop really streamlined the process. Would like to add a clarification though, when I read "wait until the PEEK is fully loaded then press DONE" I thought it meant done loading the NEW code. So I kept waiting and waiting with nothing happening. "How do I know when it's done if it isn't responding?" Re-read everything again. Duh, it was waiting on that press of DONE to start the loading process. Just wait for the same old Welcome Screen to pop up, welcoming you to PEEK, then hit DONE and follow the onscreen prompts. Once you overcome the cable install song and dance, it's all cake! Thanks to everyone who left comments here, it really helped the troubleshooting.

Congrats! I'm glad it's not too hard. I'm sure when the next software comes out I'll be biting my nails (I joined recently so I was lucky enough to have one shipped with 1.09.18).
  4.
I may have spoke too soon. My PEEK is sending email at blistering speed, but I am NOT receiving new email AT ALL! Other than the "Set Up Complete" message at 9am this morning, nothing zippo nada. Yet it sends them like a champ. I know I have messages waiting in my inbox on the registered email account, I can see them. My PEEK seems to only be working one-way?! Help!

Gmail. And IMAP is enabled, I did do "some" reading :)
I just added my juno account, and now I am getting mail. It's probably Gmail's fault, huh?
Yep, the new mail is coming from Juno only, its not PEEK's fault. This Upgrade is rocking now that I can see it in action!
