This post will contain ALL current Peek software information, including known issues/bugs with each software version. As you go down the list, you will be able to see in what ways we have improved the software.

To check your software version, just go to Peek Manager > Device Info > SW Version


Peek 1.04

Shortcuts:

Folder view:
- Enter key: open selected message
- Delete key: delete selected message
- Shift-scroll: multi-select items
- T, B: top and bottom of Inbox only

Message view:
- Shift-scroll: move cursor left and right
- Hold key: auto caps


Software Information:

- Socket loss requires power cycle to receive incoming emails in low coverage areas
- Frequent red X requires power cycle to reacquire network signal in low coverage areas
- Possible lost key strokes, esp. when replying or forwarding messages
- Sluggish performance when new email is received
- Auto-fill feature slow at times
- Slow contact download processing
- Can't cancel out of creating a new contact
- Can't send emails to addresses with weird symbols
- Can't type an email address that requires symbol menu
- Can't register with email address of form x.yyy@getpeek.com
- Can't register with password that requires symbol menu
- Occasional failure to open JPEG images requires reboot to resolve
- Envelope LED flashing ceases after 10 minutes



Peek 1.06

Shortcuts:

Folder view:
- T, B: top and bottom of all folders

Enhancements:

- Significant reduction in socket loss and red X syndrome in low coverage areas

Software Information:

- Possible lost key strokes, esp. when replying or forwarding messages
- Sluggish performance when new email is received
- Auto-fill feature slow at times
- Slow contact download processing
- Can't cancel out of creating a new contact
- Can't send emails to addresses with weird symbols
- Can't type an email address that requires symbol menu
- Can't register with password that requires symbol menu

Peek 1.07

Shortcuts:

Folder view:
- Space bar: page down

Message view:
- N, P: Open newer or previous email from view screen based on time received

Contacts:
- Jump-to-letter

Enhancements:

- 1 click to view JPEGs when only 1 attachment
- Rapid delete: holding delete deletes entire word
- Occasional but very infrequent red X
- Improved processing speed when receiving mail and downloading contacts


Software Information:

- Possible lost key strokes, esp. when replying or forwarding messages
- Auto-fill feature slow at times



Peek 1.08

Shortcuts:

Folder view:
- C: compose new
- R, A, F: reply, reply all, forward
- D: delete
- Shift+space: page up

Message view:
- T & B: top and bottom of message
- R, A, F: reply, reply all, forward
- Shift+space: page up
- Delete key: delete current, open next
- Hold number: symbol
- Hold symbol+scroll: scroll through symbols

Contacts:
- Space bar: page down

- Improved typing throughout (no key stroke losses)

- Continuous envelope LED flashing

Twitter Peek 1.01

Within your homescreen:
Enter key: open selected tweet
C & T: new tweet
R: reply to tweet
D: direct message
Shift+R: retweet
F, L: jump to first and last tweet, respectively, of a folder
Space bar: page down
Shift+space bar: page up
Shift+@: my @mentions
Shift+D: my DMs

When viewing a tweet:
R, D, Shift+R: reply, direct message, retweet
N, P: Jump to next, previous tweet

When writing a tweet:
Hold number: symbol
Hold letter: autocaps
Shift+scroll: move cursor left and right

Within your Followers/Following list:
Letter keys: Jump to Twitter username beginning w/ that character
Space bar: page down
Shift+space: page up

Peek 1.09.15

Improved Software Information:
When set to Battery Saver, the Envelop LED does not turn off after clearing the new email flag.

when i updated this pass saturday night-i could tell the difference in speed.

Installing 1.09.18 worked on WinXP! I received the "Peek not found" message two or three times, and got around it by rebooting the Peek & unplugging/replugging the USB cable.

The 1.09.18 software is production ready and fully tested.

@andyl - We can upgrade Classic to Pronto without a device reflash because they are the same software version.

Good catch! I hadn't noticed it.

Looks like you can compose a message, or more likely a partial message. Save it as a template and it shows in your drafts folder.

You can open it in drafts, edit and send. The difference is the template remains so you can use it again. I've already set up drafts for weather with my zip code, rememberthemilk.com, and random puzzles from braingle.com

ooh I'm excited for 1.09.18! Seriously all of those things were my only annoyances with Peek! Thanks!!

@tmel - does the "speedier all-around" speed up the pause that happens after sending a message? It seems like it takes 30 seconds before you can do anything after sending a message.
