Hi, I just got my Peek Pronto delivered by FedEx (I paid for overnight shipping).

It won't power on.

I put in the battery and pushed the power button according to the quick start guide but nothing happened.

I called tech support. They had me take out the battery, put it back in and plug in the charger, then power button.

Nothing happened.

They had me hold down the power button, they said "it at least should vibrate."

Nothing happened.

It doesn't even show the screen saying the battery is to low when plugged into the charger.

So now I'm waiting on hold while the support agent talks with her supervisor about what to do next.

How do I fix it?

I called Peek to activate my new Peek. They told me it was already activated and to just set up my e-mail and password. But I had no signal. they checked my covrage and they told me I was in a roaming zone but it should still work. But it didn't. They told me to go to they e-mail text box and enter #peek-cit# it brought me to the factory settings. They told me to scroll down to Sim Card and click "Sim Exictance". I did and it said not exsits. They had me take off the battery cover and pull out the Sim Card. I did. then they told me to check if all of the pins were up. They were. THey told me to put the Sim Card back in, I did. They said it should work... but it didn't. They then asked me if the card had a big pink T on it... it didn't. Peek then told me I have an "old" Sim Card. I now have to pay shipping to send it to Oakland and wait. But I need it by the sixth of november.

Can I just go to T-mobile and get a "new" Sim Card from them? Please help!!!

HELP!?! My Peek Pronto turns on then flickers off, only to restart again. I can send emails but receive none. The power up and flicker off continues until the battery dies. I have had this problem for over 2 weeks now. I tried removing the battery for a few minutes, then reinserting it. I also checked my email password and that was fine. Anyone that can help me? I am fairly new to Peek, but love it!
Thanks, Lin

Still struggling to get my Peek to work all the time. Even though it shows good coverage on my Peek it just sits there doing nothing when it starts acting up.

My questions of the day are: If I happen to be in a place that doesn't get great data coverage with T-Mobile (like my office at work) and thus my Peek stops receiving or sending if I don't put it in the perfect spot on my desk, should my Peek start working again when I step outside and get great coverage again? The reason I'm asking this is that for the past two days my Peek has stopped working while I'm at my work desk. The weird thing is that stepping outside and getting a great signal again isn't making the emails go in or out. I'm having to reboot the Peek to get it to work again. I have a government Blackberry that has T-Mobile as its provider and while it loses its coverage on occasion at my desk I have never once had to turn it on and off to get it working again. Is this a known limitation of Peek? Is having it out of good data coverage for an extended period of time prevent it from talking to the cell tower when it does have good coverage?

I have found a reproducible bug in 1.09.18 where the body of my email reply is not sent, only a blank body is sent as the reply.
To reproduce send an email to your peek something like this:
What do you prefer,
A B or C
Thanks
Now reply to this message on your peek, but instead of just typing your reply. Scroll down until you are in front of “B” now press and hold the delete key to delete everything previous in the message. You should now have something that looks like this:
B or C
Thanks
Now scroll down until you are after the word “thanks” and delete everything but “B” indicating that as your answer.
Now send the reply. Your reply is now BLANK – the “B” you left does not show up. Even thought on you peek sent folder it is there.

I realize this is a simple example. In my actual email I was choosing between a long set of security numbers. So I opted instead of typing all that and possibility getting a number wrong just to delete everything else, only leaving the security number I wanted… but this example should show you the BUG.

I've had my Peek for about a month now. I keep wanting to use the Peek as my primary device and cancel my iPhone plan, but there are a few questions I have about my Peek's behavior before I feel comfortable giving up the iPhone.
1. Texting is very slow (to the point of being useless). Email arrives on the device quickly, but text messages often take 10-15 minutes to hit the device, and are time stamped by when they were sent, not recieved. If I send a text message to the Peek at 10:00, fifteen minutes later when it shows up, it will be time stamped 10, not 10:15 when it was received (which to me borders on deceit/deception)
2. Opening emails is usually quick, but I'd say 10% of the time I try to open the menu, it takes more than 10 seconds to display the menu and react to the scroll wheel. If I have multiple emails highlighted, it's more like 75% of the time.
3. Once the message indicator starts flashing, it never stops. If I boot peek with no email in my inbox (the device displays no emails, read or unread) the message indicator stays unlit, but as soon as I receive an email, the indicator stays lit until I power down the device. I would expect the indicator to stop flashing when I read the email and have no unread messages in my inbox, but the indicator continues to flash even after I've deleted all the email on my Peek.

Is my device working as expected?

I unboxed my Pronto yesterday, activated, and something must be horribly wrong...

It won't properly connect either to my Gmail Apps domain (after calling and having them add it) or my standard @gmail.com account. The most I've seen is about 1/2 of my unread messages come through. I've reset the device, power cycled, tried variations of pulling the battery / recycling.

I've gone as far as to create a brand new gmail.com account, fully reset the device, add ONLY the brand new gmail.com account, and send that account a test message. It's been about 12 hours, and I still see that one message as new at gmail.com, but my Peek shows no messages in the INBOX. I read somewhere in the forums that a gmail.com patch is going into place today, maybe that will fix it...

Peek Maps - one of the features I was most looking forward to - updated once. No updates in 13 hours.

Peek Feeds - not working. I still can't figure out how to get an hourly digest of my Twitter timeline in my inbox - again, a feature I was looking forward to.

I'm hoping that I get somewhere with this. I'd love for it to work!

It may seem a bit odd, but case matters in some email addresses. Google Voice, for example, cannot process emails with improper case (in the Google Voice ID which looks like this: WM26hjr85s.)

When downloading contacts from an email account, Peek changes the case of the email addresses to lowercase. Similarly, when downloading emails, the case of the email addresses shown in the From: header is also changed to lowercase.

The only workaround is to manually edit each contact that is case-sensitive, which is quite a pain. This is even more problematic for those of us who have been having other problems and have to reset our Peeks from time to time, because we cannot store our contacts online and download them again, but have to manually fix each contact every time we reset.

This should be an easy issue to fix if the problem is server-side, which I would guess it is. I hope you guys can solve this problem soon! Thanks.

I just ran across a bug in 1.09.18. A few minutes later, I get a bounce notice saying that my email to noreply@facebook.com was undeliverable. Weird. I've had my peek for a week now, and its great. But this morning the response time between my gmail account and the unit was lagging about an hour for emails and was smooth for texts. I restarted the unit to refresh the link, and a handful of people started telling me that I was spamming them with old text messages while others were not effected. I erased my sent folder thinking that refreshing the link with the email server caused it to resend messages at random.
Has this problem happened in the past and are their any other things I might be able to do in the future if this happens again?

I sent this into Peek Care and did not get a response, now it has happened again.

I am replied to all in an email and it did not go to all recipients. I thought the email didn't go at all, but then I was able to view the email on one of the recipients computer and it shows names missing in the TO field like I forgot to send it to them.

This morning I just replied to an email with multiple recipients. I know 2 of them did not receive, not sure about the third.

What is going on and how to fix this?? I am using this to manage work emails when I am not in the office, so it is very important my emails are sent and sent to all recipients.

Was on my computer looking for an old e-mail in my g-mail account and opened them up to read them. Started to write a response to one of them and decided I'd do it later so I just closed my browser. Look over and my Peek is showing new e-mail so I click it and the two e-mails I was looking at on g-mail have just arrived on my Peek again. Don't think I clicked anything weird while in g-mail (not even sure what you would click to resend an e-mail to yourself anyways) so I'm not sure how that happened. Anyone else had this happen before?

edit: Gabe, the e-mails were from you so if you receive them again as well that would be something.
